Fried Ranch Tilapia

  • 3/4 cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs (I use cracker crumbs)
  • 1 (1 ounce) package dry Ranch-style dressing mix
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound tilapia fillets
  • 2 teaspoons butter
Place the bread crumbs in a bowl. In a shallow dish, mix the dressing mix and oil to form a paste. Coat the tilapia fillets with the paste, then dredge in the bread crumbs to lightly coat.
Melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat. Place the fillets in the skillet, and cook 5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and easily flaked with a fork.
I usually make some long grain rice and a veggie to go along with this meal.

  1. Thanks for the recipe sisterly. I made this the other night. It was very very good. & Rye enjoyed it as well. Always a reason to smile! Next time I will crunch the cracker crumbs down a lot more. A lot of them fell off in the skillet & I think they would have stuck better if they were smaller.

    • Logan equally loves this. I was doubtful at first, but I’m glad I gave it a shot. Yes, I usually blend the crumbs up, and you can actually buy “bread crumbs” already crunched up into little bits at the store in a canister. It’s been kind of worth it in my mind to just buy them! That way you have very little wasted crumbs after frying it up. YUM!!
