Strawberry Shortcake

  • 2 cups flour
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/3 cup milk

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In bowl, stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in shortening. Mix in milk until soft dough forms. Drop biscuits onto an ungreased cookie sheet.


  • 1 carton of fresh strawberries, diced and/or pureed to your likeness
  • 1/3 tablespoons sugar
Combine strawberries and sugar. Let sit in the refrigerator for a few hours. Pour strawberries over warm biscuits. Add some cool whip for extra deliciousness!
