Harvest Seasonings

The memory of wheat harvest is a relatively new one for me… I would go out and hang in the combine with Logan many moons ago in high school and college, but we’ve probably had a solid ten year break from the scene. The last few years we’ve made it a tradition to have a meal in the field and take a few pictures of the kids whilst wallowing in the beautiful Kansas scenery. I squeezed both kids into last year’s overalls and off we went! Evie was enamored with picking the wheat out of the already harvested tracks and we made lots of wheat bouquets with “Farmer Steve” (Great Uncle Steve was a good sport). Olan was smitten with the machinery. That kid’s got farm boy written in his DNA I’m afraid. Ha ha!

What a unique experience these kiddos get to have riding in the combine with Grandpa. Not to mention they were all about getting down and dirty in the field! Thanks to Chuck, Janine, Great Grandpa Henry, Steve, Mike and Roleta for letting us crash your party on Saturday! Way to work hard!
